Aaron Sorkin has resurfaced. Thank God.
After becoming a raving Sports Night loony (Hey, the morose overly active part of my brain still wonders with a show set in the Twin Towers, who amongst the fictional crew would have survived? Overactive imagination or fanaticism?), the political nature of West Wing didn’t seem my cup of tea. If ever there was a good reason to be totally and completely wrong, boy did Aaron Sorkin shock me.
Regardless of whatever your hang-up or preconceived notions are about West Wing, get over them. Run out and savor everyone of the episodes of the first four seasons. I still haven’t gotten around to watching the post-Sorkin stuff, and kind of dread it. He wrote some truly moving and amazing stuff and the idea of somebody else trying to do what he did…well, check the ratings I’m not in the minority.
