Kurt Vonnegut died today and frankly, I don’t know what to do about that.
My first experience with Vonnegut’s work was like most people—Slaughter House Five, a book that I wasn’t sure what it was about, but was sure that the words Slaughter House were a positive indication. Turns out my hunch was right. The book took me by surprise as did the everything about it, most of all Vonnegut’s humor. His work made growing up tolerable, if not more throughly confusing and challenging.
Vonnegut’s attitude rubbed off on me the most, which has been something this site has always attempted to embody.
I don’t know about everyone else, but I might be a little lost without him.
